Event Series Lineup

Week 1: Resilience and Recovery from a Remote Year

Haydn Shaw

Haydn Shaw is an expert at applying sociological data to challenging problems, specifically, navigating generations and leadership in the workplace. He has been called a “Leadership Guru” by the Washington Post and “an expert on cultural differences at the office” by TIME.

In his session entitled “Resilience Recovery from a Remote Year,” Haydn will look at how we can help our teachers find resilience to finish this year and then regroup and turn the lessons learned into resources for next year. This fast-moving session will overview key data and offer leaders practical and a dose of hope.

Week 2: Navigating a New Kind of School Year with a Panel of Students

Realiteen Talks Podcast Cohort

This event will feature a diverse group of students from our Realiteen Talks Podcast Cohort. This panel in particular will focus on the students experience with a different kind of school year. They’ll be answering questions directly from event attendees.

Week 3: Addressing Learning Loss with the Whole Student in Mind

Catherine Digioia

While the cumulative learning loss due to COVID-19 is substantial, students are also experiencing unprecedented levels of stress, grief, fear, and uncertainty. As districts resume traditional instruction over the next year, school leaders will need to consider social and emotional needs as part of their efforts to address learning loss sustained in the wake of school closures. In this session, participants will explore trauma-informed paradigms and practices to approach learning loss post COVID-19.

Bonus Event: Are you a Genius or a Genius-Maker?

Liz Wiseman

What could your school or district accomplish with access to all the intelligence that sits inside it? In our keynote, participants will explore the research behind Liz’s book Multipliers and discover the transformational effect that Multiplier leaders have across every level of their organization.

Participants will:

  • Learn about the five Multiplier disciplines.
  • Identify where they may accidentally diminish others.
  • Gain tactics to deal with a diminishing administrator.
