The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between third-grade students’ self-reported 7 Habits behaviors and their performance on the state ELA test. Students who reported frequent use of 7 Habits behaviors in their daily lives performed significantly better on their ELA tests than those who reported less frequent use of 7 Habits behaviors.

• The 7 Habits-proficient students performed significantly better on ELA tests than the non-proficient 7 Habits group.
