Teen Leadership Institute

Create leadership development opportunities for secondary students, engaging learning experiences for younger students, and career pathway exploration in teaching.

Leadership Institute

Build the leadership capacity of teens to lead self and lead others while creating lasting relationships and a sense of community among participants.

2–4 days facilitated by a world-class FranklinCovey Education Coach:

  • Teens discover and internalize the leadership competencies to lead self and lead others through a high-impact customized 7 Habits experience.
  • Active engagement, game-based learning, and self-reflection enable teens to explore paradigms, principles, and practices of the 7 Habits—discovering who they are, who they want to become, and how to lead others.
    Participants can earn a 7 Habits of Highly Effective People® Completion Certificate issued by FranklinCovey.

Teach-to-Learn

Offer real-world experience to teens 16+, supporting career exploration in the field of education and an early start at resume building for their postsecondary life.
7–8 days facilitated by a world-class FranklinCovey Education Coach
  • Experience The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in a guided discovery model.
  • Learn how to teach the 7 Habits Imagination Series to younger students.
  • Reflect on their experience to learn more about themselves, life, and career paths.
  • Explore their personal passion and interest through a Leadership Project culminating in goal setting for their own future using The 4 Disciplines of Execution.

Participants can earn a 7 Habits of Highly Effective People® Completion Certificate issued by FranklinCovey.

The Teach-to-Learn option can integrate into existing school or district summer programming and offers strong career exploration opportunities for students interested in education, childcare, and related fields.

After School K–5

Extend student growth and development beyond the bell with a creative, socially interactive, and game-based learning experience.

Exploration Series Curriculum

The Exploration Series is a developmentally-appropriate after school program built on high-engagement discovery learning activities, games, and self-reflection designed to grow competencies in the following areas:

  • Vision
  • Responsibility
  • Communication
  • Prioritization
  • Relationship Building
  • Higher-Order Thinking
  • Collaboration
  • Developing Strengths
  • Fostering Wellness

Each lesson is a 20-minute discovery learning experience that engages students cognitively, physically, and emotionally. This helps students internalize the competencies they are practicing while also appealing to the many different ways a student may learn best.

Student Materials

The Exploration Series Student Guide is designed for students to engage with them in unique ways  and make them their own. This includes completing activities such as adding color, folding, cutting, or doodling. There are 130 lessons in each level.

The School-to-Home Connection is a weekly at-home challenge for students to teach a specific skill to someone in their home or community.

Professional Learning

The Exploration Series Professional Learning provides support tailored for certified and non-certified staff, ensuring each staff member receives training most applicable for their experience, roles, and responsibilities to create a safe and caring environment that fosters leadership and life skills.

The Exploration Series Professional Learning Series includes:

  • ELT: The 7 Habits workshop
  • Systems for Success training
  • Curriculum walkthrough

The Exploration Series Professional Learning series ensures that after school staff members are prepared to establish routines, set up lessons, facilitate learning and discovery of the leadership competencies, and establish supportive relationships with students in the after school program, regardless of prior experience levels.

The differentiated educator guides pair with the student guide that supports all age groupings.

Summer School K–8

Imagine a summer learning environment where staff create opportunities for students to learn, flourish, and get set for their bright futures in the classroom—and far beyond.

Imagination Series Curriculum

A developmentally appropriate summer learning program built on high-engagement learning activities, games, and self-reflection that build leadership and academic readiness competencies.

30 developmentally-aligned 60-minute lessons per grade level. Each lesson is aligned to the principles and practices of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and develops the competencies of the inner ring of the Student Leadership Portrait.

As these principles are brought to life through engaging and playful activities, students will develop executive function, emotional regulation, self-reflection, and other foundational academic readiness skills.

Student Materials

Professional Learning

Educators receive the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People® Signature training and a curriculum walkthrough in preparation for implementing the Imagination Series curriculum, ensuring they are supported and prepared to facilitate discovery learning experiences.
As they move through the curriculum, the lesson plans are extended and augmented via the Leader in Me Online Extended Learning Resource Library.
