Dr. Lesley Eason was awarded the 2016 Advanc-ED Leading by Example Designation, and she was honored for her exemplary leadership in education and for leading and empowering her community to ensure that all learners meet their potential, and for initiating growth, change, and innovation to create opportunities for every learner.
As a member of the FranklinCovey High School Development Team, she has worked closely with all aspects of Leader in Me for high schools and their district partnership. which honors student credentialing and the importance of students being ready for their career, college, leadership, and life. During her career as a public educator, Dr. Eason was selected as the District Principal of the Year and the District Teacher of the Year. She has extensively researched and presented on secondary content related to globalization, data-informed decision-making, career academy implementation, and rigor across the curriculum.
Dr. Lesley Eason currently serves as a Leader in Me Consultant and Coach. Previously, Dr. Eason served in the Onslow County School System for 30 years as a high school English teacher, assistant principal, principal, and the Associate Superintendent for Instructional Services and Continuous Improvement. During her career, she had the honor of helping to open eight Leader in Me schools which included six elementary, one middle, and one high school. Dr. Eason is deeply passionate about all things related to instruction, assessment, and leadership, and has researched and presented at numerous conferences and in a variety of publications. Lesley is most proud of her advocacy for all students and public schools, her 31-year marriage to her husband Bob (also a public educator), her two sons, Trey and Gage, and a variety of community service organizations that she loves to participate in.
