The Backbone of Your Leader in Me Implementation

Each Core level begins with a Lighthouse Team Training and a full staff training. From there, you can select the amount of implementation coaching that best fits your needs and budget.

Step 1

Lighthouse Team Training

During Lighthouse Team Trainings, the members of your Lighthouse Team learn how to support staff in the new learning for that level, how to organize Action Teams, and how to be effective leaders among peers.

Step 2

Staff Training

All-Staff Workshops equip your teachers and non-teaching staff members with new and essential learning about how to implement Leader in Me.

Step 3

Implementation Coaching

Implementation Coaching helps your school implement the content from the workshops, deepens the new learning, and advances progress on achieving your targeted results.

Signature 4.0 Training

Audience: Full Staff

This all-staff training grounds your school community in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®. Based on Dr. Covey’s award-winning book, this training is foundational to the Leader in Me model and is the starting point for the Leader in Me journey.

Teaching Leadership

 

Audience:

Teachers who will facilitate any of the 4 Leadership Courses

End in Mind:

Participants will be able to facilitate the 4 Leadership Courses in
an engaging way at their school.

Learning Targets:

This workshop will prepare educators to:

  • Identify Leader in Me practices that would benefit their school.
  • Begin to apply the 7 Habits in their life.
  • Outline the content of the Leadership Courses. Leader in Me.
  • Integrate Leader in Me Online resources into lesson plans.
  • Determine if and how to integrate the digital student courses into their teaching.
  • Create an engaging and empowering learning experience for their students

 

Leading Results (Adults)

 

Audience:

Adult Lighthouse Team

End in Mind:

Participants will understand how Leader in Me aligns with their school priorities and how to collaborate with students on implementation

Learning Targets:

This workshop will prepare educators to:

  • Connect Leader in Me paradigms and practices to current initiatives at their school.
  • Use Leader in Me resources to build leadership at their school, starting with myself.
  • Propose an option for delivering the Leadership Courses to students at their school.
  • Establish an Adult Lighthouse Team that is equipped to roll out Leader in Me at their school.
  • Listen to and interact with members of the Student Lighthouse Team with trust and confidence

 

Leading Results (Students)

 

Audience:

Student Lighthouse Team

End in Mind:

Participants will understand how Leader in Me aligns with their school priorities and how to collaborate with adults on implementation.

Learning Targets:

This workshop will prepare students to:

  • Recognize how paradigms, behaviors, and results are related to one another.
  • Explain the 7 Habits Maturity Continuum.
  • Create excitement for the 4 Leadership Courses at my school.
  • Transform their school’s physical environment into a leadership environment.
  • Propose opportunities for students to practice leadership skills and have voice at their school.
  • Listen to and interact with members of the Adult Lighthouse Team with trust and confidence.

 

Lighthouse Team Training

 

Audience:

Adult and Student Lighthouse Team

End in Mind:

Participants will form and utilize effective Lighthouse Teams and action teams to further their school’s Leader in Me implementation.

Learning Targets:

This workshop will prepare leaders to:

  • Divide responsibilities among Lighthouse Team members, capitalizing on individual strengths and desires.
  • Assist students in the creation of Leadership Portfolios. (Adults)
  • Navigate Leader in Me Online and help other staff members do the same. (Adults)
  • Further transform their school’s physical environment into a leadership environment.(Students)
  • Identify types of evidence to include in a Leadership Portfolio. (Students)
  • Apply the 4 Roles of Great Leaders as a member of the Lighthouse Team.
  • Form action teams to help with the implementation of Leader in Me at their school.

High School Core 2 Workshop Components

 

Lighthouse Team Training 2

Audience:

Adult and Student Lighthouse Teams

End in Mind:

Participants will be able to build a leadership culture in their schools by engaging in outside partnerships and modeling trust.

Learning Targets:

This workshop will prepare leaders to:

  • Partner with families and the community to build leadership at their school.
  • Model trust at their schools, paving the way for a strong social emotional environment.
  • Identify service learning opportunities that could be created at their schools.
  • Refresh the Lighthouse Team to achieve more in the future.
  • Create plans with the Student/Adult Lighthouse Team to form and work with action teams to further Leader in Me implementation.

Leader in Me Core 2

Build a Leading Culture based on Trust

Audience:

Full Staff

End in Mind:

Participants will be able to build a leadership culture based on trust in their classrooms and schools.

Learning Targets:

This workshop will prepare educators to:

  • Find the paradigms that are fueling the gaps between where they want Leader in Me to take the school and where they currently are.
  • Prioritize behaviors that build high-trust relationships with students and others.
  • Create physical surroundings and student interactions that communicate the worth and potential of everyone.
  • Release control and create opportunities for students to practice leadership skills

Audience:

Adult and Student Lighthouse Teams

Participants will be able to apply the 4DX goal achievement process to future goals, as well as prepare their school for Lighthouse Certification.
Learning Targets:

This workshop will prepare leaders to:

  • Apply The 4 Disciplines of Execution process to future goals.
  • Identify what needs to be implemented at their school to prepare for Lighthouse Certification.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate Student-Led Conferences at their schools.
  • Create plans and establish action teams with the Adult/StudentLighthouse Team that prepare their school for Lighthouse Certification.

Using the Whole-School Improvement Process to Achieve Goals

Audience:

Full Staff

Participants will use the The 4 Disciplines of Execution to achieve their own goals and empower others to do the same.

Learning Targets:

This workshop will prepare educators to:

  • Connect what they have learned about leadership and trust to goal achievement.
  • Use The 4 Disciplines of Execution to achieve individual goals.
  • Align team goals to larger school goals.
  • Track goal achievement in Leadership Portfolios.
  • Model The 4 Disciplines of Execution goal achievement process to students.
